- #910 LA DODGERS with Snell (-) over Milwaukee with Gasser at 8 PM EST
It's gut-check time for Los Angeles. Down 2-0 in this best-of-seven series, the Dodgers need to scoop up a win here or they will be in serious trouble.
Hitting the hill for the home team will be southpaw Blake Snell. In his lone postseason start against the Braves back on October 4th, No. 7 was nicked for one earned run and three hits in 3.2 innings of work. Blake whiffed five, walked five, and failed to earn a decision in LA's 3-2 loss to Atlanta. Thankfully, with nine official starts in the books this season, Snell has been scratched for only nine earned runs and 31 hits in 42.2 frames. That's good enough for a 4-1 mark with a strong 1.90 ERA.
Young left-hander Robert Gasser will toe the rubber for the visitors. On the road against the Friars in one playoff start, No. 54 was popped for one earned run and three hits in 4.0 innings of work. Robert struck out three, walked one, and failed to earn a decision in the Brew Crew's 3-1 victory. However, in two starts against the Dodgers this season, Gasser was gashed for seven earned runs and 12 hits in 10.2 frames. That's bad enough for an 0-2 tally with an elevated 5.91 ERA.
Several solid team trends support this investment. Los Angeles has scooped up victories in 38 of its last 64 when coming off a loss, 52 of its last 83 at home, 98 of its last 161 when priced as a favorite, 48 of its last 78 as home chalk, and 70 of its last 116 in non-division play.
The Dodgers last three-game losing streak took place at Atlanta from August 25th to August 28th and you can bet your last buck manager Dave Roberts will have his players ready to get back into this series with a statement victory here. Take Los Angeles with Snell. Thanks, and best of luck, Tom.
