Analysis: Western Kentucky was a nice winner for us last Wednesday when they defeated Missouri State, at home, 34-13. QB Brock Glenn was the star of the game for the Hilltoppers. He completed 20 of 35 pass attempts for 231 yards and also ran it 15 times for an additional 95 yards. RB Allen ran for 105 yards and two scores. All told, it was 464 yards of offense from WKU, which is a season-high. Now they’re back on the road (fifth time in seven games) this Wednesday, facing a Sam Houston team that has little going for it. The Bearkats have lost all four of their games vs. FBS foes this season. Two of them were close (at Troy and vs. Tulsa). The Bearkats also probably deserved the cover at Texas Tech on 9/26 (only trailed by 7 at halftime). But last week’s 35-3 loss at Liberty was an unmitigated disaster. We don’t want to back either side this week. But do expect some points to be scored. The Western Kentucky defense is bottom 10 in the country in yards per play allowed.
