- This is a play on the TORONTO BLUE JAYS as part of our MLB Double Play. I love Max Scherzer but he really has had some struggles this season as shown by his 1-7 record and 7.02 ERA. It has been bad luck and limited bats behind him as he is pitching to a 4.80 xERA which is nothing special but the differential is massive. Most importantly, he is pitching his best of the season as his time off after April has been beneficial. He had one bad start in Tampa Bay this month but has a 2.53 ERA in his other four August starts. Part of the number is Logan Gilbert who is having another consistent season with his 3.36 ERA, his fifth straight season with a sub 3.75 ERA, and his 20.0% K:BB% but Toronto does not strike out as they are the third best team in K Rate. 10* (962) Toronto Blue Jays
