- This is a play on the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS as part of our MLB Double Play. Unfortunately the Pirates have fallen 6.5 games back in the National League Wild Card with time running out while the Cardinals are 4.5 games back with this being a big game with a series at the Dodgers on deck. Braxton Ashcraft comes in as the road favorite and we go contrarian in a situation that he has never lost as the Pirates have never lost in his seven road starts when he is the chalk. He brings in a 3.70 ERA in 14 road starts which is certainly solid but far from dominant and there is another contrarian aspect of it on the other side.
