- #975 ASA PLAY ON Philadelphia Phillies Run Line -1.5 (-110) over Los Angeles Angels,Sunday at 4:07 PM ET - The Phillies are on a red hot run again and have won 12 of their last 14 games and 10 of those 12 wins have come by a multi-run margin. The Angels have lost 6 straight games and 10 of 14 and this is a light-hitting team that has the worst slugging percentage in the majors in home games this season with a paltry .329 mark! The Angels are likely to again struggle at the plate here as Zack Wheeler takes the mound for the Phillies. Wheeler has had some recent struggles but a slumping Angels team is the perfect spot for him to resume his dominance. Prior to getting hammered at Seattle in his most recent start, Wheeler had allowed more than 3 earned runs in a start only 5 times in his first 21 starts this season prior to facing the Mariners. As for the Angels, they start a former Mariner here as Kikuchi gets the start. The southpaw has gone from Seattle to the Blue Jays to the Astros before arriving to the Angels for the 2025 season. So that was his 4th team in 5 seasons and that is no coincidence. Kikuchi just returned from a long stay on the injured list with shoulder inflammation on his throwing side. The lefty picked up right where he left off - and that is not a good thing! He allowed 5 earned runs in 5 innings and that means that in his last 6 starts of more than 2 innings of work he has allowed at least 4 earned runs in 5 of the 6 starts. The Phillies were on the cusp of bigger innings yesterday but could not break through until the 10th. Today against a still rusty Kikuchi this is the perfect spot for the Phillies bats to erupt. Couple that with a Wheeler bounceback and you have the perfect recipe for a big multi-run margin of victory. Road blowout here. Lay the -1.5 runs with the Phillies.
