Analysis: At 1:40 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Detroit Tigers. Earlier this month, the Dodgers got one of their two big injured starters back when Blake Snell faced the Royals. And although he pitched extremely well in his fourth start back yesterday against the Tigers, the Dodgers ultimately lost the game by the same 2-1 score that they prevailed by on Friday. Today, it will be righthander Tyler Glasnow making his second start back in Dodger Blue. The 33-year-old returned last Tuesday from severe lower back spasms that kept him out since early May, and he pitched well although a little rusty. Look for Glasnow to improve off that effort against a Tigers team that's had trouble scoring runs lately. In fact, in its last five games, Detroit has only managed to plate a total of eight runs. In his limited action this season (eight starts), Glasnow has logged a 3.02 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with 56 strikeouts, 13 walks, and only 26 hits allowed in just under 45 innings. The Dodgers have won four of the last five meetings with the Tigers going back to last March, and 13 of Glasnow's last 15 starts. And Glasnow's teams have gone 20-6 (+9.5 net games) as a road favorite of -150 (or more) when Glasnow was on the mound. Meanwhile, Detroit has dropped 13 of Framber Valdez's last 19 starts.
