- #562 PHILADELPHIA (-) over Orlando at 7:30 PM EST
With the No. 7 seed in the NBA Playoffs on the line and a date with No. 2 Boston, Philadelphia will be sure to protect its homecourt and take care of business against Orlando. The Magic enter this matchup off a five-point road loss to the Celtics and this will prove to be another difficult spot for head coach Jamahl Mosley and his men.
Historically, the Sixers have dominated this series lately inking an elite 17-5 SU and 16-6 ATS record in the last 22 meetings including an outstanding 9-2 SU and 10-1 ATS in this situation provided they take the floor with confidence off a straight up win. Also, when priced as a favorite and storming the court off a blowout victory of 20 points or more, Philadelphia owns a profitable 38-6 SU and 29-14-1 ATS mark including a stunning 25-1 SU and 20-5-1 ATS provided its opponent slips in off a pointspread loss. With those two parameters live and skipper Nick Nurse and his crew facing a team that was not priced as an underdog of +5 or more last, this angle jets to a dynamic 16-0 SU and 15-1-1 ATS.
This is going to be a poor wagering situation for the visitors. In the Play-In Round, short road dogs priced at +3.5 or less have definitely struggled inking a rough 3-7 SU and ATS record. Also, as a postseason guest, Orlando has experienced all kinds of financial trouble posting a pitiful 21-50 SU and 28-42-1 ATS mark including a dismal 8-28 SU and 12-24 ATS provided its opponent slips in off a pointspread victory. Finally, in conference play fighting a foe that carries a team won/loss percentage of .530 or better, the Magic have lost their touch posting a timid 11-24 ATS tally.
Even without the services of Joel Embiid (emergency appendectomy), the 76ers will have enough talent on the floor to dismiss this erratic Magic squad. Take Philadelphia. Thanks, and best of luck, Tom.
