Analysis: #959/960 ASA PLAY ON Over 8 Runs – Toronto Blue Jays @ Tampa Bay Rays, Thursday at 1:10 PM ET - The Blue Jays and Rays are off a low-scoring game Wednesday following Tuesday's high-scoring thriller. This one, based on the pitching match-up and the fact it is a day game in very warm Tampa, should be a repeat of the type of game we saw Tuesday. A key here with these pitchers is the home/road dichotomy. The Rays Shane Baz has a 6.28 ERA at home and has been very homer-prone here at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The Blue Jays Chris Bassitt has been fantastic at home but he is 3-8 with a 5.42 ERA in his road starts this season! Bassitt gave up 5 earned runs in 4 innings in his most recent start facing the Rays in Tampa. The Rays Baz is 1-7 with a 7.42 ERA since the All-Star break! Prior to yesterday's low-scoring battle, only 4 of the last 14 Rays home games totaled less than 8 runs. Toronto had won 6 straight games and scored an average of 6 runs in the 6 victories prior to yesterday's loss. Great spot for a Blue Jays bounce back at the plate but we also look for Bassitt's road struggles to continue. Our computer math model projecting 11 to 12 runs here and even if it "only" gets to 9 or 10 that is still a winning ticket for us. Over in this one!
